At a mammoth 2h41m, it took a lot of faith to sit down for this film. A confused and manic trailer didn't help much but in we went. And I'm rather glad that we did. One Battle After Another is another great example of a film getting the basics so right that everything else just gets pulled up with it.
A great cast, solid plot, equal sprinkling of drama, comedy and action makes it a film for almost everyone. The subject matter was topical (and perhaps deliberate), and any slight flaws with the story were quickly forgiven.
The scary runtime evaporated as we watched it was that good, and so I can not recommend the film enough.
